Mount Bachelor Village Resort and Mount Bachelor Ski Education Foundation Team Up for the Athletes

Mount Bachelor Village Resort (MBVR) and Mount Bachelor Ski Education Foundation (MBSEF) have teamed up again to support the athletes who participate in MBSEF's programs. As the official lodging sponsor of the youth ski organization, MBVR is the primary facility for out-of-town competitors and their families. Athletes are also able to get some extra recognition through the Resort's winter advertising program. Each Sunday during the ski season, MBVR runs advertisements in the local Bend paper that profiles a specific athlete. The "MBSEF Athlete of the Week" ads feature a photo and short profile on a different racer each week. "Our skiers work so hard at their sport and getting the extra acknowledgment through the Mount Bachelor Village Resort ad program is very gratifying," said the development and events director of MBSEF. "The athletes are always so excited to see their pictures in the paper and we are glad to have such a wonderful working relationship with the resort and other community organizations that support our foundation." MBSEF racers compete in snowboarding, alpine and Nordic skiing from November to April each year. The goal of MBSEF is to not only get the athletes collegiate scholarships and, ultimately, to the U.S. Ski Team, but also to instill important lifelong values such as teamwork, self-discipline, goal setting and sportsmanship.
